Hardeeville is a city in Jasper County, South Carolina, United States. It is part of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is known for its rapid growth and development, particularly in the areas of residential and commercial real estate.

History[edit]

Hardeeville was established in the early 19th century and named after the Hardee family, who were prominent landowners in the area. The city was officially incorporated in 1911. Historically, Hardeeville was a small, rural community, but it has experienced significant growth in recent years due to its proximity to Hilton Head Island and Savannah, Georgia.

Hardeeville is located at coordinates 32°17′4″N 81°4′58″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 50.4 square miles (130.6 km²), of which 49.8 square miles (129.0 km²) is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²) is water.

As of the 2020 census, Hardeeville had a population of approximately 7,473 residents. The city has seen a significant increase in population over the past decade, largely due to new housing developments and the expansion of the local economy.
