Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Romanian: Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie "Grigore T. Popa" Iași) is a public university located in Iași, Romania. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical universities in the country, named after the renowned Romanian physician and scientist Grigore T. Popa.

History[edit]

The university was established in 1879 as the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Iași. It became an independent institution in 1948 and was named after Grigore T. Popa in 1991. Over the years, it has grown to include faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and biomedical engineering.
