Goofy is a cartoon character created in 1932 at Walt Disney Productions. Goofy is a tall, anthropomorphic dog who typically wears a turtleneck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and is one of Disney's most recognizable characters.

History

Goofy first appeared in Mickey's Revue in 1932. He was created by Walt Disney and Art Babbitt. His original name was Dippy Dawg, but he was later renamed Goofy. Over the years, Goofy has appeared in numerous animated films, television series, and comic strips.

Goofy is known for his clumsiness and simple-minded, yet good-natured personality. Despite his lack of intelligence, Goofy is often portrayed as a loving father to his son, Max Goof. He is also known for his distinctive laugh and catchphrases such as "Gawrsh!" and "Ah-hyuck!"
