The term "Glucometer" is derived from the Greek words "glykys" meaning sweet, and "metron" meaning measure.
Usage
Glucometers are used by individuals with diabetes to monitor their blood glucose levels. The device works by lancing the skin to obtain a small amount of blood, which is then applied to a test strip inserted into the meter. The meter then displays the blood glucose level on a digital screen.
