Giuseppe Abbati (1836–1868) was an Italian painter associated with the Macchiaioli movement. He was born on January 13, 1836, in Naples, Italy, and passed away on February 21, 1868, in Florence, Italy.

Biography

Abbati was known for his innovative approach to painting, characterized by the use of en plein air techniques and a focus on capturing the effects of light and atmosphere in his works. He was a prominent member of the Macchiaioli group, a collective of Italian artists who rebelled against the academic conventions of the time and sought to create art that was more spontaneous and naturalistic.
