Gipuzkoa (also spelled Guipúzcoa in Spanish) is a province in the Basque Country, an autonomous community in northern Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of Biscay to the west, Álava to the south, and Navarre to the east, and by France and the Bay of Biscay to the north. The capital city of Gipuzkoa is San Sebastián, known in Basque as Donostia.

Geography[edit]

Gipuzkoa is the smallest province in Spain by area, covering approximately 1,980 square kilometers.
