Church Service

Smith was called to serve as an Apostle in the LDS Church on October 8, 1903, at the age of 33. He was ordained by Joseph F. Smith, who was then the president of the church. President of the Church

Smith became the president of the LDS Church on May 21, 1945, following the death of Heber J. Grant. George Albert Smith married Lucy Emily Woodruff on May 25, 1892. They had three children. Smith was known for his kind and gentle demeanor, as well as his commitment to helping others.
