Geebung is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 12 kilometers north of the Brisbane CBD.

History

The suburb of Geebung is named after the geebung plant, which is native to the area. The name was officially adopted in 1923. Geebung has a rich history, with its development closely tied to the expansion of the railway network in Brisbane. The Geebung railway station was opened in 1888, which significantly contributed to the growth and development of the suburb.

Geebung is bordered by the suburbs of Zillmere to the northwest, Boondall to the north, Virginia to the northeast, east, and southeast, Wavell Heights to the south, and Chermside to the southwest and west.
