The county seat is Pasco, which is also the largest city in the county. Franklin County is part of the Tri-Cities area, which also includes the cities of Kennewick and Richland in neighboring Benton County.

History

Franklin County was formed out of Whitman County on November 28, 1883. It was named after Benjamin Franklin, the Founding Father, author, scientist, and diplomat.
