Fosravuconazole

Fosravuconazole (pronunciation: fos-ra-vu-con-a-zole) is an antifungal medication used in the treatment of various fungal infections.

Etymology

The term "Fosravuconazole" is derived from the words "fos" (a prefix used in chemistry to denote the presence of a phosphorus atom), "ravu" (an abbreviation of ravuconazole, a related antifungal drug), and "azole" (a class of compounds containing a five-membered aromatic ring of two carbon atoms and three nitrogen atoms).

Usage

Fosravuconazole is used to treat a variety of fungal infections, including those caused by Candida species and Aspergillus species. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of the fungal cell membrane, thereby disrupting the growth and reproduction of the fungus.
