William Birnbaum with a Phonocardiogram System

Electronics Engineer William Birnbaum demonstrates a Phonocardiogram System (including a Type 531 Oscilloscope), manufactured by Beckman Instruments. This instrument was used on at least one of the Project Gemini manned spaceflights in 1965-1966 to monitor the heartbeat of an astronauts while they were inside the space shuttle.
