Summary
DescriptionEstradiol levels during therapy with 0.25 mg buccal estradiol in postmenopausal women.png
English: Levels of estradiol (pg/mL) on the first day after a single dose of 0.25 mg buccal estradiol or at steady state after the last dose during 0.25 mg twice daily (0.5 mg/day total) buccal estradiol therapy in 6 postmenopausal women. Estradiol was administered buccally in the form of a troche (lozenge). Additional information on the troche formulation: "Each troche (lozenge) contained 17β-estradiol (0.5 mg), progesterone (200 mg), testosterone (2.0 mg) and DHEA (10.0 mg). The excipients in the troche consisted of silica gel, acacia, sevia and polyethyleneglycol, with a wildberry flavor." Half a troche, containing 0.25 mg estradiol, was taken per dose.
