English: This study aimed to determine if the following clinical and laboratory features are associated with a diagnosis of definite TBM in patients with chronic meningitis syndrome: new-onset seizures; focal neurologic deficit; (+) PTB on chest X-ray; CSF lymphocytic pleocytosis (predominance of lymphocytes rather than neutrophils, which is more characteristic of a chronic infection such as TBM, as in Figure 1); decreased CSF glucose; increased CSF protein.
