The Fetzer Institute (pronounced: FET-zer In-sti-tute) is a non-profit foundation based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. The organization is dedicated to fostering awareness of the power of love and forgiveness in the emerging global community.

Etymology

The institute is named after its founder, John E. Fetzer, a pioneer broadcaster and former owner of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. The name "Fetzer" is of German origin, derived from the Middle High German word "vetzer", meaning "weaver".

History
