F-75

The F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation, single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force. Designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, it also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities.

Development

The F-22 was developed as part of the Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program, which aimed to create a new air superiority fighter to replace the aging F-15 Eagle. The F-22 made its first flight on September 7, 1997, and was introduced into service on December 15, 2005.

Design
