Examorelin

Examorelin (pronounced ex-a-mo-rel-in), also known as Hexarelin, is a synthetic hexapeptide and a potent, selective secretagogue of growth hormone (GH). It is chemically known as L-Histidyl-2-methyl-D-tryptophyl-L-alanyl-L-tryptophyl-D-phenylalanyl-L-lysinamide.

Etymology

The term "Examorelin" is derived from the combination of the words "examine" and "morelin", which loosely translates to "examine more". The name is indicative of the drug's function as a GH secretagogue, which stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release more GH.

Usage

Examorelin is primarily used in scientific research to study the effects of GH release and the potential therapeutic benefits it may have in treating certain medical conditions. It has been studied for its potential use in treating GH deficiency, cardiovascular disease, and certain metabolic disorders.

Related Terms

  • GHRP-6: A synthetic hexapeptide, like Examorelin, that also acts as a GH secretagogue.
  • Ipamorelin: Another synthetic peptide that stimulates GH release, but with fewer side effects than other GH secretagogues.
