The European Athletics Championships is a biennial athletics event organized by the European Athletic Association. The competition features track and field events and is one of the most prestigious athletics competitions in Europe.
History
The first European Athletics Championships were held in 1934 in Turin, Italy. Initially, the championships were held every four years, but since 2010, they have been held biennially. The event has grown significantly over the years, both in terms of the number of participating athletes and the range of events.
