Estrella Galicia is a brand of pale lager beer, produced by Hijos de Rivera Brewery, a Spanish brewery founded in 1906. The brewery is located in the city of La Coruña, in the autonomous community of Galicia, in northwestern Spain.

History

The Hijos de Rivera Brewery was founded by José María Rivera Corral in 1906, after he returned from his travels in Mexico and decided to start a brewery in his hometown of La Coruña. The first beer produced by the brewery was named Estrella Galicia, which translates to "Star of Galicia". The brand has since become synonymous with the brewery itself.

Production

Estrella Galicia is a pale lager, a type of beer that is fermented and conditioned at low temperatures. The beer is brewed using a traditional method, with malt, hops, yeast and water as the main ingredients. The brewery sources its water from the city of La Coruña, which is known for its high-quality water. The beer is known for its golden color, smooth taste, and balanced bitterness.

Varieties

The brewery also produces a line of specialty beers under the 1906 brand, named after the year the brewery was founded.

Estrella Galicia is distributed both nationally and internationally. In Spain, it is one of the most popular beers, particularly in its home region of Galicia. Internationally, the beer is exported to several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.
