Entoloma rhodopolium is a species of mushroom in the genus Entoloma. It is commonly known as the pinkgill mushroom due to the pink color of its gills. This mushroom is found in forests and woodlands, where it grows on the ground among leaf litter and decaying plant matter.

Description[edit]

Entoloma rhodopolium has a convex cap that ranges in color from pale pink to reddish-brown. The gills underneath the cap are pink and closely spaced. The stem is cylindrical and often has a fibrous texture. This mushroom does not have a distinctive odor.

Distribution and Habitat[edit]

This species is widespread and can be found in temperate regions around the world. It prefers moist environments such as forests, where it plays a role in decomposing organic matter.
