Enterprise
Enterprise is a term often used in the context of business and technology. In a business context, an enterprise is an organization or company. In technology, it refers to the use of software and technology solutions in a business setting, often on a large scale.
Business Enterprise[edit]
A business enterprise or company is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers. Businesses are prevalent in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and provide goods and services to customers in exchange for other goods, services, or money.
Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company, although that term also has a more precise meaning.
Enterprise Technology[edit]
Enterprise technology, information technology, enterprise IT or IT is the application of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data, often in the context of a business or other enterprise.
IT is considered a subset of information and communications technology (ICT). A business enterprise must use emerging technology and IT effectively to stay competitive.
Enterprise Software[edit]
Enterprise software is an integral part of enterprise IT. It is computer software used to satisfy the needs of an organization rather than individual users. Such organizations include businesses, schools, interest-based user groups, clubs, charities, and governments.
