Egomania (/ˌiːɡoʊˈmeɪniə/; from Greek ego, "I", and mania, "madness") is a pathological obsession with oneself. It is characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance and superiority, a lack of empathy for others, and an excessive preoccupation with one's own interests and achievements.
