Econazole Nitrate

Econazole Nitrate (pronounced as ee kon' a zole nye' trate) is an antifungal medication used to treat a variety of fungal infections. It belongs to the class of drugs known as azole antifungals.

Etymology

The term "Econazole Nitrate" is derived from the chemical compound it is made of. "Econazole" is a synthetic antifungal agent and "Nitrate" refers to the nitrate salt form of the drug.

Usage

Econazole Nitrate is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It can also be used to treat a certain type of scalp infection (tinea versicolor). This medication works by stopping the growth of fungus.

How to Use
