EBSCO Information Services (pronounced E-B-S-C-O), often abbreviated as EBSCO, is a leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, e-books and discovery services to libraries of all kinds. For over 70 years, EBSCO has partnered with libraries to improve research with quality content and technology.
Etymology
The name "EBSCO" is an acronym for Elton B. Stephens COmpany. Elton Bryson Stephens, an entrepreneur from Birmingham, Alabama, founded the company in 1944.
