Synopsis
The series stars Neil Patrick Harris in the title role as a teenage physician named Douglas "Doogie" Howser. Despite his young age, Doogie is a licensed doctor practicing medicine at Eastman Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he also lives with his parents. The show explores Doogie's struggle to balance the challenges of practicing medicine with the everyday problems of teenage life.
