Dennis A. Carson is an American physician and researcher known for his pioneering work in the field of immunology and gene therapy. He is particularly recognized for his discovery of the drug Pentostatin, which is used in the treatment of hairy cell leukemia.

Early Life and Education

Dennis A. Carson was born in the United States. He completed his undergraduate studies at Haverford College and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Carson began his career in medical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where he focused on the study of autoimmune diseases and cancer. He later joined the faculty at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he has held various positions, including Director of the Moores Cancer Center.
