David Perlmutter

David Perlmutter (born December 31, 1954) is an American neurologist and author, known for advocating a low-carbohydrate and high-fat diet. He is the author of the bestselling book Grain Brain, which suggests that gluten and carbohydrates are detrimental to brain health.

David Perlmutter graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1981. He is a board-certified neurologist and a fellow of the American College of Nutrition.
