Data Analytics (pronunciation: /ˈdeɪtə ænəˈlɪtɪks/) is a broad field that involves the analysis of raw data in order to make conclusions about that information. The techniques and processes of data analytics have been automated into algorithms and mechanical processes that work over raw data for human consumption.

Etymology

The term "Data Analytics" is derived from the English words "data" (a plural of datum, which is Latin for "something given") and "analytics" (from the Greek word "analytikos", meaning "able to analyze").
