The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth is the medical school of Dartmouth College, located in Hanover, New Hampshire. Founded in 1797, it is the fourth oldest medical school in the United States. The school is named after Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, who was a Dartmouth alumnus.

History

The Geisel School of Medicine was originally established as the Dartmouth Medical School in 1797 by Nathan Smith. It was the first medical school in the United States to be associated with a liberal arts college.
