The Da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic surgical system designed by the American company Intuitive Surgical. It is commonly used in complex surgeries such as cardiothoracic, urological, and gynecological procedures.

Etymology

Description

The Da Vinci Surgical System consists of a surgeon's console, a patient-side cart with four interactive robotic arms, a high-performance vision system and proprietary EndoWrist instruments. The surgeon controls the arms while seated at the console, viewing a high-definition, 3D image of the surgical site.
