Cumbria (pronunciation: /ˈkʌmbriə/) is a ceremonial county in North West England. It is not a medical term, but it is home to several hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Etymology
The name Cumbria is derived from the same root as the name for the people of the Cumberland region, which was once part of Cumbria. The name is of Celtic origin, possibly meaning "the land of the Cymry or compatriots".
