Councils on Chiropractic Education International (CCEI) is a global organization that oversees the quality of chiropractic education through accreditation. The pronunciation of the term is /ˈkaʊnsəlz ɒn ˌkaɪrəˈpræktɪk ˌɛdʒʊˈkeɪʃən ˌɪntərˈnæʃənəl/.

Etymology

The term is derived from the English words "council", "chiropractic", "education", and "international". "Council" is derived from the Old French concile, which means "assembly or meeting". "Chiropractic" is a health profession that is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. "Education" comes from the Latin educatio which means "a breeding, a bringing up, a rearing". "International" is derived from the Latin inter and natio which mean "between" and "nation" respectively.
