A Cosmetologist (pronunciation: /kɒzmɪˈtɒlədʒɪst/) is a professional who is trained and certified in the application of beauty treatments such as hair styling, makeup, nail care, and skin care.

Etymology

The term "Cosmetologist" is derived from the Greek word "kosmetikos" which means "skilled in adornment" and "logia" which means "study of".
