Corynebacterium renale is a Gram-positive, non-spore-forming, club-shaped bacterium that is often found in the urinary tract of cattle but can also affect other animals, including sheep and goats.

Corynebacterium renale is characterized by its ability to produce urease, an enzyme that hydrolyzes urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide.
