Corona of Glans Penis

The Corona of Glans Penis (pronunciation: /kəˈroʊ.nə ɒv glænz ˈpiː.nɪs/) is a part of the human male anatomy. It refers to the circumference of the base of the glans penis in human males.

Etymology

The term "Corona" is derived from the Latin word for "crown". The term "Glans" is also Latin, meaning "acorn", and "Penis" is derived from the Latin word for "tail". The corona of glans penis is so named because it resembles a crown-like structure at the base of the glans penis.

Anatomy

The corona of glans penis is the prominent part of the penis that forms a rounded projecting border, overhanging a deep retroglandular sulcus, behind which is the neck of the penis. The corona is usually the widest part of a flaccid penis, and in such cases, is used to choose the correct size of a condom.
