Cornell Medical College (pronunciation: /kɔːrˈnɛl ˈmɛdɪkəl ˈkɒlɪdʒ/), also known as Weill Cornell Medicine, is a prestigious medical school located in New York City. It is one of the most selective medical schools in the United States, known for its rigorous curriculum and commitment to clinical research and patient care.

Etymology

The college is named after Ezra Cornell, one of the co-founders of the Western Union telegraph company, and a benefactor of Cornell University. The "Weill" in Weill Cornell Medicine is in honor of Sanford I. Weill, a former chairman and CEO of Citigroup, who has been a major benefactor of the institution.
