Chris Kempczinski
Chris Kempczinski is an American business executive who is currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of McDonald's Corporation, a role he assumed in November 2019.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Kempczinski was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Duke University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Science, Economics, and History. He later received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Career[edit]
Prior to joining McDonald's, Kempczinski worked for several multinational companies. He started his career at Procter & Gamble, where he worked in brand management. He then moved to PepsiCo, where he served in a variety of roles, including Vice President of Marketing in the UK and Ireland.
In 2008, Kempczinski joined Kraft Foods as Executive Vice President and President of Kraft International. He was responsible for managing the company's international operations and strategy.
In 2015, Kempczinski joined McDonald's as Executive Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and Innovation. In this role, he was responsible for the company's strategic planning and business development efforts.
In 2016, he was promoted to President of McDonald's USA, where he was responsible for the operations of all McDonald's restaurants in the United States.
In November 2019, Kempczinski was appointed as the CEO of McDonald's Corporation, succeeding Steve Easterbrook. As CEO, he is responsible for leading the company's global business and driving its growth strategy.
Personal Life[edit]
Kempczinski is married and has two children. He is known for his commitment to physical fitness and is an avid runner.
