The Children's Hospital Association is a non-profit organization that represents more than 220 children's hospitals in the United States. The association is dedicated to improving child health through innovation in the quality, cost and delivery of pediatric health care.
History[edit]
The Children's Hospital Association was founded in 1924 as the Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (ACHRI). The organization changed its name to the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) in 1985, and then to the Children's Hospital Association in 2011.
Mission[edit]
The mission of the Children's Hospital Association is to advance child health through innovation in the quality, cost and delivery of pediatric health care. The association advocates for children's hospitals and the children they care for, provides education and networking opportunities for hospital leaders, and conducts research to inform policy and practice.
Membership[edit]
Membership in the Children's Hospital Association is open to children's hospitals in the United States that meet certain criteria. These include being a non-profit organization, having a pediatric residency program, and providing a significant amount of care to children with complex health conditions.
