Cheltenham Township is a home rule municipality in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is a suburb of Philadelphia and is part of the Delaware Valley metropolitan area. The township is known for its rich history, diverse population, and vibrant community life.

Cheltenham Township was established in 1682 by Tobias Leech, a Quaker who emigrated from Cheltenham, England. The area was originally inhabited by the Lenape people.
