Cefroxadine

Cefroxadine (pronounced: sef-roks-a-deen) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is a semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotic derived from Cephalosporium.

Etymology

The term "Cefroxadine" is derived from the parent compound "cephalosporin". The prefix "cef-" is a common prefix for cephalosporin drugs, while "-roxadine" is a unique suffix for this particular drug.

Usage

Cefroxadine is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).
