The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) is an intergovernmental organization that was established in 2011 to address public health issues in the Caribbean region. History

CARPHA was created through the merger of five existing regional health institutions: the Caribbean Epidemiology Centre (CAREC), the Caribbean Health Research Council (CHRC), the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute (CFNI), the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI), and the Caribbean Regional Drug Testing Laboratory (CRDTL). The merger was aimed at improving coordination and efficiency in addressing public health challenges in the Caribbean.

Mandate

CARPHA's main mandate is to provide leadership in promoting and protecting the health of the Caribbean population.
