Canadian Pharmacists Journal
Canadian Pharmacists Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research, clinical reviews, commentaries, evidence-based practice, and opinion pieces pertinent to the profession of pharmacy, particularly those practicing in Canada. The journal is published by the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA).
History
The Canadian Pharmacists Journal was established in 1868, making it one of the oldest continuously published journals in Canada. It was initially known as the Canadian Pharmaceutical Journal, but changed its name to the current title in 2007 to reflect the evolving role of pharmacists in the healthcare system.
Scope
The journal covers a wide range of topics related to pharmacy practice, including clinical pharmacy, pharmacy education, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacoeconomics, drug safety, and pharmacy management. It also publishes articles on the role of pharmacists in public health, patient care, and health policy.
Abstracting and indexing
The Canadian Pharmacists Journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 1.296.
Editorial process
The journal operates a peer review process, with manuscripts being reviewed by at least two independent referees. The editor-in-chief is responsible for the final decision on publication.
