Brandon Richard Flowers (born June 21, 1981) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the rock band The Killers. He has also released two solo albums, Flamingo (2010) and The Desired Effect (2015).

Early life

Brandon Flowers was born on June 21, 1981, in Henderson, Nevada, the youngest of six children. He grew up in a Latter-day Saint family and moved to Nephi, Utah when he was eight years old. He later returned to Las Vegas to live with his aunt and attend Chaparral High School.

Career

The Killers

In 2001, Flowers responded to an ad posted by Dave Keuning in a Las Vegas newspaper, which led to the formation of The Killers. The band gained fame with their debut album, Hot Fuss (2004), which included hit singles such as "Mr. Brightside" and "Somebody Told Me". The Killers have since released several successful albums, including Sam's Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), and Wonderful Wonderful (2017).

Solo career

Flowers released his debut solo album, Flamingo, in 2010. The album received positive reviews and included the hit single "Crossfire". His second solo album, The Desired Effect, was released in 2015 and was also well-received by critics.

Personal life

Flowers married Tana Mundkowsky in 2005, and the couple has three sons. He is known for his devout Latter-day Saint faith and often incorporates themes of faith and redemption into his music.
