Blood Pressure Association

The Blood Pressure Association (IPA: /blʌd 'prɛʃər əˌsoʊsiˈeɪʃən/) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of hypertension and other blood pressure related conditions.

Etymology

The term "Blood Pressure Association" is derived from the English words "blood", "pressure", and "association". "Blood" (Old English blōd) refers to the red liquid that circulates in the arteries and veins of humans and other vertebrate animals, carrying oxygen to and carbon dioxide from the tissues of the body. "Pressure" (Middle English pressur) refers to the continuous physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it. "Association" (Late Latin associatio) refers to a group of people organized for a joint purpose.
