Beth Ford
Beth Ford is an American business executive who currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Land O'Lakes, a major American agribusiness and food company. She is recognized for being the first openly gay woman to lead a Fortune 500 company.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Beth Ford was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Business from Iowa State University and later pursued an MBA from Columbia University Business School.
Career[edit]
Ford began her career in the late 1980s, working for companies such as Mobil Corporation, PepsiCo, and Scholastic. Her roles varied from supply chain operations to executive leadership.
In 2012, Ford joined Land O'Lakes, initially serving as the head of the company's supply chain and operations. In 2018, she was promoted to the position of CEO, making history as the first openly gay woman to lead a Fortune 500 company.
Personal Life[edit]
Ford is openly gay and has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in the corporate world. She lives with her wife and their three children.
Recognition[edit]
Ford has been recognized for her leadership and advocacy. In 2020, she was named one of Forbes' "World's 100 Most Powerful Women". She has also been honored by Outstanding 50 LGBT+ Leaders and Fortune's "Most Powerful Women" list.
