Barbara is a 2012 German drama film directed by Christian Petzold. The film is set in the 1980s in East Germany and tells the story of Barbara Wolff, a physician who has been transferred to a small country hospital from Berlin as punishment for applying for an exit visa from the GDR (German Democratic Republic).
