Apocrine gland - (pronounced) (A-poh-krin. . . ) type of gland found in the skin, breast, eyelid, and ear. Apocrine glands in the breast secrete droplets of fat into breast milk, and those in the ear help create earwax. Apocrine glands in the skin and eyelid are sweat glands. Most of the apocrine glands in the skin are located in the armpits, groin and around the nipples. Apocrine glands in the skin are scent glands, and their secretions usually have an odor.
