Apathetic

Apathetic (/əˈpæθɪtɪk/), derived from the Greek word "apathes" meaning "without feeling", is a term used in psychology to describe a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, or passion. An apathetic individual has an absence of interest in or concern about emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical, or physical life and the world.

Etymology

The term "apathetic" comes from the Greek word "apathes" which means "without feeling". It is composed of the prefix "a-" (without) and "pathos" (feeling).
