Etymology
The name "Anhui" originated from the combination of the first character of two cities, Anqing and Huizhou. The abbreviation for Anhui is "Wan" (皖), a character that is also used in the names of many places in the province.
Geography
Anhui is located in the eastern part of China, bordered by Jiangsu to the east, Zhejiang to the southeast, Jiangxi to the south, Hubei to the southwest, Henan to the northwest, and Shandong for a tiny section in the north.
