Androgynous (/ænˈdrɒdʒɪnəs/; from the Ancient Greek: ἀνήρ, anēr, genitive andros, meaning "man", and γυνή, gunē, meaning "woman") refers to the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics into an ambiguous form.
Etymology
The term "androgynous" is derived from the Greek words andros (man) and gyné (woman). It was first used in English in the early 17th century to describe a person or thing that has both male and female characteristics.
