Alendronate Sodium - (pronounced) (uh-LEN-droh-nayt SOH-dee-um) drug used to treat certain bone disorders such as osteoporosis and Paget's disease of the bone. It is also being studied for the treatment of hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium in the blood) and cancer-related bone pain. Alendronate sodium slows bone breakdown and prevents calcium loss.
